Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

An official for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
