Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane transporting Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official statement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This occurrence isn't the first time that a US military aircraft transporting a top government figure has suffered mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to head back to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical problem.
