The former president's Family Member Seeks Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has impressive online following
Kai Trump will have plenty of well-known backers when she starts her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns multiple golf courses and often matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
She mentioned that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Simply stay calm."
"He basically advised me to compete and enjoy myself," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events this year and has position 461 in AJGA standings.
But she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's an even better human being. He suggested me to go out there, relax, and go with whatever happens."
Kai will face several top competitors in professional golf at the Annika, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that her participation exposes the sport to new audiences, especially among younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle brand.
Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
