Top-ranked Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.

The tennis star in action
Aryna Sabalenka concluded the year with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.

A Year of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

In July, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Numbers

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and picked up a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.

She earned almost 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
