Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
