Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
